Ralph Marino

Graduate of Winthrop High School, Class of 1976

Ralph Marino, 61, a lifelong resident of Winthrop, died on Sept. 13.

Ralph was the youngest son of Tony and Fran Marino, both late of Winthrop. He graduated from Winthrop High School in 1976 where he played varsity football. Ralph’s greatest love was his family and friends, followed closely behind in no particular order by great food, The Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, Bruins, good weed, golf and the Grateful Dead.

He leaves his sister, Paula Smith and her husband, George, his brother, Anthony and his wife, Jan, his sister, Cathy and his “brother from another mother” Andy Levison. The family lost their eldest sibling, Johnny in 1982. Ralph will be missed by his five nieces and nephews: AJ Marino and his wife, Renee, Jonathan Smith and his wife, Kavita, Jessica Smith and her wife, Michele Ruiz, Lauren Glay and her husband, Garry and Kristin Marino. Ralph adored the newest additions to the Marino/Smith clan, his four great nephews: Julian, Austin, Jayden and Aiden.

Most recently Ralph worked at his sister Cathy’s Winthrop Law Office. He was fantastic with client relations, not so great at filing.

Ralph will be interred after a graveside service at the Winthrop Cemetery. Date and details to follow. Memorial donations may be made to the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, 1575 Cambridge St., Cambridge, MA 02138.
