Michael J. Balian of Court Rd., Winthrop passed away suddenly at home on June 28. He was 24 years old.
Born in Boston, the beloved son of Michele (Turco) and Michael R. Balian, he was a life long resident of Winthrop and a graduate of Malden Catholic High School. After graduation, he went on to attend Suffolk University and finally graduating from Salem State University with a bachelors degree. He also worked as a bartender at the Winthrop Yacht Club.
He was the loving father of Lucas Ryan Mason and the dear brother of Jianna Balian, cherished grandson of Michelena Briasco of East Boston and Josephine Morrissey of Chelsea, beloved nephew of Jeff and Melissa Turco of Winthrop, John and Angela Briasco of Saugus and Marty and Barbara O’Brien of Winthrop. He is also survived by his great aunt Phyllis Vazza and many loving cousins.
The funeral will be conducted from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home, Winthrop today, Wednesday, July 3 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with the interment in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery.
