Joseph Limone

Retired machinist and longtime Winthrop Golf Club member

Joseph A. Limone of South Main St., Winthrop passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on June 4. He was 87 years old. Born in East Boston, the beloved son of the late Susan (Pagliccia) and Joseph Limone, he was a resident of Winthrop for over 75 years and was employed as a machinist at United Electrical Controls prior to his retirement. He was also a long time member of the Winthrop Golf Club.

He was the devoted husband of the late Clare G. (O’Brien) and the loving father of Joseph E. Limone and Coleen P. Magee and her husband, John L., all of Winthrop and Leah M. Conti and her husband, Thomas on Las Vegas, Nevada. He was the dear brother of the late Ralph Limone and his wife, Vera, Louis Limone and his wife, Liz, Emily Sorrentino and her husband, Guy of Groton and Richard Limone and his wife, Lucille of Winthrop; cherished grandfather of John L. Magee, III, Joanna L. Hambling and her husband, Steven, Rachel Czerkies and her husband, Michael and Allen Conti and his wife, Ashley and great grandfather of Scarlett, Sawyer, Sienna, Nicholas, Eden, Charli and Cade. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. 

The funeral was conducted from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home, Winthrop on Monday, June 10, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church. Rev. Peter Graziano celebrated the mass and offered prayers at the interment in the Cross Street section of Winthrop Cemetery.

Frederic Casey

United Airlines retiree

Frederic J. Casey of Ocean View St., Winthrop passed away at home on June 8. He was 88 years old.

Born in Winthrop and a lifelong resident, he was the beloved son of the late Mary (Norris) and Arthur Casey.

He enlisted in the US Army serving as a paratrooper and reaching the rank of sergeant. After his honorable discharge, he went on to work as a freight agent at United Airlines until his retirement.

He was the devoted husband of the late Rita M. (Doherty) and the loving father of Paul Casey and his wife, Denise of Groveland, William Casey of Pelham, New Hampshire, John Casey and his wife, Elizabeth and Ann Casey, all of Winthrop, Robert Casey and his wife, Gretchen of Pepperell and the late Thomas Casey and his wife, Carolyn of Methuen; dear brother of Paul Casey of Chelmsford and the late Arthur S. Casey; cherished grandfather of John, Ashley, Joe, Mike, Victoria, Alexandra, Shaelyn, Brendan, Robbie, Ana, Ryan and Sean and great grandfather of Landen, Logan and Audrey. 

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home, Winthrop on Friday, June 14, from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 11:30 a.m. Committal will be private.
