Paul Kiley

Retired educator

Paul M. Kiley, 72, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 18 at Northern Light Mercy Hospital in Portland, Maine, after a long illness.

The son of the late Anna (Hamilton) and Paul J. Kiley of Winthrop, Paul moved to Portland eight years ago after residing and teaching in Los Angeles, Calif., for 15 years.  He was a world traveler, having taken many global excursions.

Paul enjoyed listening to classical music, reading and writing poetry; long walks on woodland trails and beaches and spending time with family.  He loved teaching and lecturing at many schools and colleges throughout California and Maine.

Paul leaves behind his sisters, Ellen (Kiley) Raposa of Pennsylvania and Kathleen Kiley of Peabody.  He was especially fond of his nieces and one nephew: Michelle, Julie, Jennifer, Krisann, Lauren and Robbi.   Paul was

predeceased by his twin sister, Patricia (Kiley) Randall of Winthrop.

Jason O’Connor

Avid outdoorsman whose mischievous smile, gift for gab and great sense of humor will be sorely missed

Jason J. O’Connor, a lifelong resident of Winthrop, passed away suddenly at his camp in Rockwood, Maine, on April 27. He was 53 years old.

He was an avid outdoorsman with the love of wildlife, fishing, hunting, boating and snowmobiling in the great state of Maine. Going to camp in the Sebago or Moosehead area was often the weekend plans with his brother John! He graduated from Winthrop High School in 1983 and BHCC in 1986 with a degree in Digital Electronics.

He started work with the Dept. of Revenue before working as a field tech for Offtech, a copier and printer company, in 1987, eventually becoming Toshiba in 2001.

His mischievous smile and gift for gab and great sense of humor will be sorely missed.

He was predeceased by his parents, Barbara J. (McGrath) and James J. O’Connor of Winthrop and was the beloved brother of Karen J. Tufts and her husband, Charles of Maine, Kathleen H. Vraux and her husband, Richard of Maine, James J. O’Connor and his wife, Ellen of Billerica and John J. O’Connor, his twin and soulmate, of Winthrop and his loving dog, Seamus. He is survived by many loving nephews and nieces.

A Funeral Service will be held from the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home, 210 Winthrop St, Winthrop on Friday, May 3 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will be in Winthrop Cemetery.
