WIHA to Honor Ethel Kelley at its April 27 Arbor Day Celebration

The Winthrop Improvement & Historical Association, (WIHA) will celebrate Arbor Day at the Deane Winthrop House on April 27, Saturday from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

This year, WIHA will honor the late Ethel Kelley, past president of WIHA by dedicating a newly installed ARBOR, with rosebush plantings in her memory. Thanks are given to the many supporters that have made donations in her name for the new Arbor to be built. Her many years of tireless work, and generous support of WIHA will always be remembered.

All are welcome to join us for fun inspirational activities to nurture, plant and celebrate trees.

Rakes and gloves will be supplied for a yard clean up. Free baby Eastern Red Bud trees will be given out for volunteers to take home thanks to the Tom Hankard, President of the Belle Isle Rotary Club,

At noon, memorial trees and rose bush plantings will be dedicated with a reading of the official Arbor Day Proclamation. We will have creative activities in the barn with Twig Art Projects for kids and adults, then we will top it off with delicious Cherry Pie and coffee for all.

WIHA hopes to see you at this inspiring event for a “Healthier and Greener World.”
