Mary Reczek

Former Winthrop Catholic Women’s Club member

Mary E. Reczek of Peabody, formerly of Winthrop, passed away at Brooksby Village in Peabody on March 23. She was 95 years old.

Born in East Boston, the beloved daughter of the late Mary (Hayes) and William Fielding, Sr. and a former member of the Winthrop Catholic Women’s Club, she was the devoted wife of the late Walter A. Reczek, Sr. and the loving mother of Paul Reczek and his wife, Ruth of Kingston, N.H., Robert Reczek and his wife Lorraine, of Melrose, Gerard Reczek and his wife, Gail of Andover and the late Walter A. Reczek, Jr. and his wife, Mary Ann of Lexington; dear sister of the late William Fielding Jr. and James Fielding. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. 

Her funeral was conducted from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home, Winthrop on Wednesday, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church. Services concluded with the committal in the Cross Street section of Winthrop Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center at www.joslin.org. Melody Allen

Winthrop middle school teacher

Melody A. Allen of Pleasant Court, Win-throp passed away at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital on March 21. She was 62 years old.

Born in Boston, the beloved daughter of the late Sophie (Gorchykowski) and Wil-liamVoloshen and a resident of Win-throp for over 29 years, she was em-ployed as a middle school teacher for Winthrop Public Schools.

She was the loving mother of Joshua Allen of Norwood and Rebecca Allen of Huntington Beach, Calif., the dear sister of the late William Voloshen and his wife, Michelina and Michael Vo-loshen and the cherished grandmother of Brooke, James, Skyler and River.

A Memorial Mass was held in St. John the Evangelist Church on Monday, March 25. Memorial donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund atwww.danafarber.jimmyfund.org/.
