The Boch Center Launches ‘Music Teachers Who Inspire’ Contest in Honor of National Teacher Appreciation Day

In honor of National Teacher Appreciation Day on Tuesday, May 8, the Boch Center in association with its upcoming production The Sound of Music are hosting a Music Teachers Who Inspire contest powered by Music Drives Us.

The Boch Center is in search of local music, band, or chorus teachers who inspire students to pursue a love of the arts. One winning teacher will receive a GRAND PRIZE package that includes a $1,000 school grant from Music Drives Us, tickets to a performance of The Sound of Music at the Boch Center Wang Theatre, and a one night stay at the W Hotel Boston, including breakfast and a massage at Bliss Spa.

Nominations for the contest open on Thursday, March 29 at 8:00am and the deadline to nominate is Friday, April 13 at 11:59pm. Students, parents and colleagues can submit their entrants for this award and learn how to cast their vote via bochcenter.org/MusicTeachersInspire. Voting will be live on the Boch Center Facebook page from April 17-30. The winning teacher will be notified on May 1 and presented with the Grand Prize package on stage prior to The Sound of Music performance on Tuesday, May 8.

The Boch Center is proudly presenting the brand new production of The Sound of Music from May 1 – 13, and is hopeful this spirited, romantic and beloved musical story of Maria and the von Trapp Family will once again thrill audiences and inspire young aspiring musicians.

“Music Drives Us is proud to support the Teachers Who Inspire contest to honor educators who consistently go above and beyond to empower children through the arts. It is imperative that, for the future of the arts, we celebrate teachers who help keep music in our schools,” stated Ernie Boch, Jr., Found of Music Drives Us.

Tickets are on sale now at the Boch Center Box Office, bochcenter.org, or by calling (800) 982-ARTS (2787), and via Ticketmaster.
