Military serving overseas?

Dear Editor:

Let’s help bring a little bit of the Holidays to relatives, friends and neighbors serving overseas with the United States Military. The Christmas Holidays will soon be upon us. If you have a sister, brother, uncle, neighbor or boyfriend serving in the United States Military who won’t be home for Christmas, either in the United States or overseas. Send me their name and address and I’ll make sure they receive a Christmas Tree care package from American Legion Post 146 and the residents of Winthrop. We will put a smile on their face, a smile in their heart and a smile in their stomach. They don’t even have to be from Winthrop . . . . .

THANK YOU

Dear Editor:

A big thank you to local Boy Scout Troop 75, Scout master Robert Douglas, troop leader Sean Romacito, scouts Cody Wojcik, Jake Wojcik, Michael Harris, John Cataldo and Matt Stoddard for their help filling mini-care packages for our military veterans that live in the Winthrop Housing Authority property. These mini care packages will be given out on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. They may have served many years ago, but we never want to forget those who defended our Country in war and peace.
