Helen Ferraro

Retired hairstylist

Helen M. (DiCicco) Ferraro of Winthrop passed away at home on March 29 at the age of 101.

Prior to her retirement, Helen was employed as a hairstylist.

The wife of the late Angelo Ferraro, she was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Anthony and Pauline (Macchia) DiCicco. She was the devoted mother of Paul A. Ferraro and his wife, Janet of Lynn and Ellen M. Bonilla of Winthrop; adored grandmother of Carissa Bonilla and her husband, Mark Wysocki and Alex and Stephanie Ferraro and loving great-grandmother of Cedric and Quinton Wysocki; the dear sister of the late Louise Interbartolo, Carmella Zambella, Robert DiCicco, Roy DiCicco, Evelyn Ray and Anna DiCicco. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Joan Canniff

Lifelong Beachmont resident

Joan (McGuiggan) Canniff of Revere died, surrounded by her family, on April 1.

Joan was a retired telephone switchboard operator for AT&T, a member of Our Lady of Lords Parish for over 50 years and a lifelong resident of Beachmont, Revere.

She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Canniff of Revere; loving mother of Kim (Canniff) Abrams and her husband, Hal Abrams of Revere, Sean Canniff and his wife, Andrea (Humphreys) Canniff of Saugus, and the late Kelly Ann (Canniff) Kabbara and her husband, Mohammed Kabbara; cherished grandmother of Corey Abrams and his wife Kristin (Parillo) Abrams, Kerri Abrams Rampelberg and Frank Perullo, Brooklynn Kabbara, Haley Canniff and Anthony Travaglia, Drew Kabbara, Courtney and Lindsey Canniff; devoted great-grandmother to Kailynn, Brianne, Madyson and Logan Abrams and Paige Bryce Rampelberg and adored “Ma” by all who knew her.

Carol A. (Laidley) O’Brien of Winthrop and Revere passed away on March 30. She was 74 years old.

Born in Winthrop, the daughter of the late Frederick F. and Florence N. (Ciampa) Laidley, she was the devoted mother of John H. “Jack” O’Brien and his wife, Lisa of Revere and the late Roberta O’Brien-Maggiano; adored grandmother of Dylan and Cody O’Brien, James Maggiano and Michael O’Brien; dear sister of Steven J. Laidley of Winthrop, Dr. Bettina D. Laidley of Tamworth, NH and the late Frederick N. “Chick”

Laidley and Robert J. Laidley; loving aunt of Dr. Belinda Laidley-Collias of Memphis, TN and her Godchild, Phoebe Laidley-Collias of Vermont.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home, 210 Winthrop St., Winthrop on Friday, April 7 from 9 to 11a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church-Winthrop at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Winthrop Cemetery. Philip Nicoletti

Of Lynn, formerly of Medford

Philip P. Nicoletti of Lynn, formerly of Medford, passed away on March 28. He was 68 years old.

The beloved son of the late Philip A. and Jean (Izzo) Nicoletti, he was the loving father of Amanda Nicoletti Izzo-Alessandrini and her husband, Ian and Philip Nicoletti; brother of Richard and his wife, Mariann, Jeanne (Nicoletti) Ayer and her husband, Michael, John “Jack” and his wife Susan, Donna and Toni. He is also survived by three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Sreet, Medford on Tuesday, April 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a memorial service at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private. At the request of the family, please omit flowers. Donations can be in memory of Philip P.
