Timothy Barter III

37-Year employee of US Air

Timothy J. Barter III of Winthrop, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, following a long illness on October 16. He was 66 years old.

Tim was a loving and caring “family man,” and a dedicated employee of US Air for 37 years who enjoyed fast planes and Rock-n-Roll.

The beloved husband of 37 years to Charlene J. (Dodson) Barter, he was born in Winthrop, the cherished son of the late Timothy J. and Roberta (Hatley) Barter. He was the loving father of Alyson Rae of Seattle, WA and Timothy J. Barter IV of Brighton; dear brother of Geraldine Henderson of Clemson, SC and Valerie Barter of Nashua, NH.

Visiting hours will be held in the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home, 210 Winthrop St., Winthrop, today, Thursday, October 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home beginning at 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Mary Freedman

Of Wareham, formerly of Winthrop

Mary P. (Youngren) Freedman of Wareham, formerly of Winthrop, passed away peacefully on October 14 at McCarthy Hospice Care Center.  She was 89 years old.

Born in Boston, the daughter of the late Otto and Margaret (Ford) Youngren, she was pre deceased by her daughter, Margaret (Peggy) Deleary of Upton (formerly of Revere), her brother, Sylvester Youngren and her sister, Dorothy Robinson of Mission Hill. She is survived by her son, Mark O. Freedman and his wife, Lynne, and their children, Parker and Rachel of Bourne.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, October 20 at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne.  Interment is private.  Visitation prior to funeral service will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Please visit www.nickersonbournefuneralhome.com for full obituary and online guest book.

Barbara Sirois

Winthrop Senior Center member

Barbara A. (Boushell) Sirois of Winthrop passed away on April 3 at the age of 93.

Barbara was a member of the Winthrop Senior Center where she enjoyed heading out on many of their bowling outings. Barbara and Roger vacationed in Maine for many years. She also enjoyed gardening and traveling, but most of all spending time with her loving family.

The beloved wife of 74 years to Roger J. Sirois, she was born in Medford, the cherished daughter of the late Edward and Muriel (Green) Boushell. She was the devoted mother of Yvonne Westcott and her husband, Tom and Paulette O’Brien and her husband, Dave, all of Winthrop and Roger J. Sirois Jr. and his wife, Linda and Mark Sirois and his wife, Linda, all of Ipswich; adored “Gram” of 13 grandchildren and “Great Gram” of eight great-grandchildren. She was the dear sister of Marie Skomro and her late husband, Frank of Winthrop, Robert Boushell and his wife, Mary Frances of Georgia, the late Edward Boushell and sister-in-law of Josephine Boushell of Lynnfield. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were from the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home, Winthrop. A Funeral Service was held at the funeral home on Saturday, April 9. Burial followed in Winthrop Cemetery (Belle Isle Section). Donations in her name can be made to the Robert A. Paul Struzziero, Sr.

Licensed plumber/gas fitter; member of the Knights of Columbus

Paul R. Struzziero, Sr. of Winthrop passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his loving wife and best friend of 19 years, Georgiana Dirsa-Struzziero on October 11.

Paul was a Local 22 Union Laborer for over 20 years. He was a licensed Plumber/Gas Fitter and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Born in Somerville, 64 years ago, Paul was the son of the late Agnes (Rego) and Theodore Struzziero; devoted father of Carly Marie Bowdoin-Struzziero and her husband, Steven and Paul R. Struzziero Jr.; adored grandfather of Francesca Rose Bowdoin; dear brother to many sisters and brothers.
