Senate Primary is Tuesday

Winthrop voters will go to the polls Tuesday for the State Senate Democratic Primary and it certainly has been an exciting campaign. Locally, Winthrop has one of its own, attorney Joseph Boncore, running for the seat that was previously held by Anthony Petruccelli. Joe has worked very hard on the campaign trail and has impressed voters throughout the district with his knowledge of the issues. Joe is part of a well-known Winthrop family — his father, Phil, has served commendably as a councillor-at-large since the transition to our new form of government a decade ago. Joe will be the first to tell you that is competing for the seat against an equally outstanding group of candidates that includes former mayor Dan Rizzo of Revere, Revere Councillor-at-Large Steven Morabito, Lydia Edwards, Diana Hwang, and Paul Rogers (all of East Boston), and State Rep. Jay Livingstone of Beacon Hill.

We hope that Winthrop residents will get out and vote Tuesday in this important election.
