Winthrop Officers Apprehend Two Burglars

Winthrop police nabbed two people July 23 and charged them with felony breaking and entering into a building and other charges at 11:06 a.m. after a call from a resident at the Court and Loring roads area.

A man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the second floor had been broken into and an attempt was made on the first floor. All Winthrop units responded to find a door kicked in. Officers soon responded that they had arrested two people.

Johanna Markos, 33, 69 Campbell Ave., Revere was charged with felony breaking and entering into a building in the daytime, receiving stolen property under $250, malicious destruction of property over $250, and larceny over $250.

Michael Torrence, 26, 157 Morton St., Winthrop was charged with two counts of felony breaking and entering into a building, possession of burglarious instrument, two counts of malicious destruction of property over $250, receiving stolen property under $250, and two counts of receiving stolen property over $250.

Both were taken to East Boston Court to face charges.
