For all intents and purposes, the 2016 Presidential Election process begins tonight when the top 10 Republican candidates take the stage at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland for a debate that will be televised live on the Fox News Channel. The appearance in the debate of Donald Trump — who is leading in most polls among GOP voters — is sure to attract a large viewing audience and it will be interesting to see how the other candidates engage Trump in discussions during the debate.
We can only guess as to which of the Republican candidates ultimately will win the nomination for President, but the eyes of the political world — including those of political observers in Winthrop — will be on Cleveland this evening.
