We recently visited Coughlin Park for a wiffeball tournament organized by Ben Spinazzola and all we can say is, ‘Wow, what a beautiful transformation has taken place” at the park. With the new facilities for tennis, basketball, and street hockey, plus the new playground area with new equipment, and the nice fields where the wiffleball tournament was taking place, the residents of that neighborhood, and the whole town, for that matter, have a splendid recreational spot, which we understand is being used often and with much enjoyment.
The renovation of our parks was a top priority for Council President Peter Gill, whose simple idea of starting a parks committee of local residents started the ball rolling forward — and our parks have never looked better. Town Manager James McKenna and DPW Director Steve Calla have carried out these renovations and beautification projects to perfection — and the good news is that it is going to continue.
