There has been a lot happening next door in Revere, beginning with the news this week that former Revere Mayor Thomas Ambrosino was selected Monday as the new Chelsea city manager, succeeding Jay Ash, who left to become the Secretary of Housing and Economic Development in Governor Charlie Baker’s Cabinet. And in another major development, Winthrop resident Tino Capobianco, who previously served as an aide to Speaker DeLeo, has taken a key high-level position in Revere Mayor Dan Rizzo’s campaign for re-election in which he will be challenged by Councilor-at-Large Brian Arrigo, who has announced that he will be a candidate for Mayor.
Tino brings the valuable experience of having worked on campaigns for various candidates in congressional, senatorial, and state representative contests. Tino developed strong relations with Revere residents during his service in the Speaker’s office and he will call upon those connections as he works on the Dan Rizzo campaign. One thing is certain: Tino Capobianco is a hard worker and so very knowledgeable about politics and elections. Tino will be an asset to Mayor Rizzo in what is shaping up as an interesting race between an incumbent mayor and a sitting member of the City Council.
