Virginia Crucioli

Of Winthrop

Virginia M. Crucioli of Williams Street, Winthrop passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice in Danvers on April 27. She was 82 years old.

Born in East Boston, the beloved daughter of the late Josephine (Larsen) and George Thompson, she was the devoted wife of the late Herbert Crucioli and the loving mother of David Crucioli and his wife, LuAnn of North Andover and Domenic Crucioli of Winthrop; sister of Bernard Thompson, Marilyn Thompson and the late George, Patrick and Josephine Thompson and cherished grandmother of Christina, Kimberly and Alex.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation at the funeral home today, Thursday, April 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. Her funeral will be conducted from the Ernest P. Caggiano and Son-O’Maley Funeral Home, Winthrop on Friday, May 1 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10 a.m. Interment to follow the mass will be in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery. Carmella Wessling

Retired Winthrop Kindergarten Teacher

Carmella J. Wessling of Endfield Road, Winthrop passed away at the Faulkner Hospital in Boston on April 23. She was 84 years old.

Born in Boston and a Winthrop resident since 1958, she was the beloved daughter of the late Domenica (Filipone) and Frank Visco and the proprietor of the Jack and Jill School before becoming a kindergarten teacher for the Winthrop Public Schools. She was the devoted wife of the late Bernard W. Wessling and the loving mother of Frank Wessling of Millis, William Wessling of Winthrop, Kim Martino and her husband, Peter of Winthrop, Linda Wessling and Jack Schoaf of Milford, Susan Wessling and Pat Glispin of Worcester and Karen Guenette and her husband, William of Holden; dear sister of Joseph Visco of Lynnfield and the late Louis Visco and the cherished grandmother of Michelle, Nicholas, Kyle, Jessica, Samantha, Justin, Ariana, Erika, Jesse, William, Stephen, Brandon and Ella.

Michael DeMarco, Jr.

Of California, formerly of Winthrop

Michael P. DeMarco, Jr. of Long Beach, California, formerly of Winthrop, passed away suddenly at home on April 21. He was 36 years old.

A longtime resident of Winthrop, he moved to Long Beach over nine years ago.

Born in Boston, he was the beloved son of his father, Michael P. DeMarco, Sr. and his wife, Michelle of Delray Beach, Florida and his mother, the late Kathleen A. (Walsh) DeMarco. He was the dear brother of Michelle Rich and her husband, Brian of Winthrop; the cherished grandson of Jacqueline and Frank DeMarco and the late Ruth and Lawrence Walsh.

Of Winthrop

Elaine B. Stone of Winthrop Sreet, Winthrop and a lielong Winthrop resident, passed away at the Eastpointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chelsea on April 17. She was 68 years old.

Born in Winthrop, she was the beloved daughter of the late Betty R. (Wrench) and Arthur W. Stone; the dear sister of Denise Sasso and her husband, Guy of Winthrop and Gary Stone of New Hampshire. She was also the loving aunt of Kerri Sasso.

Lifelong Winthrop resident

Sharon M. McInnis of Grovers Avenue, Winthrop passed away suddenly at the Whidden Hospital in Everett on April 23. She was 52 years old. Born in Winthrop and a lifelong Winthrop resident, she was a graduate of Winthrop High School.

The beloved daughter of the late Sandra F. (Chairmonte) and Daniel E. McInnis, Sr., she was the devoted wife of Godfried Jansen and the dear sister of Daniel McInnis and his wife, Michelle and David McInnis all of Winthrop; the loving aunt of Rachel McInnis and the stepmother of Godfried Jansen.

Paul Booras

Lifetime member of Winthrop Elks

Paul D. Booras of Winthrop died on April 27. He was 79 years old.

Paul was a graduate of Winthrop High School, Class of 1955 and The Chadwick Institute. He was a lifetime member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks and a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He was the beloved son of the late  Demetrios P. and Pauline (Georgountzos) Booras; brother of John D. Booras of Winthrop and the late Stella Thomas and Peter D. Booras and loving uncle to his nieces and nephews. He also leaves many close friends and loving caregivers at the V.A. Hospital in Jamaica Plain.

His funeral service will be held in the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home, 210 Winthrop St., Winthrop on Friday, May 1 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow will be in Winthrop Cemetery, (Cross St.) Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours today, Thursday, April 30 from 5 to 8 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Paul’s memory may be made to Music & Youth www.musicandyouth.org. Harold Ham, Jr.

Member of Masons, Cottage Park Yacht Club and Master Mason

Harold A. Ham, Jr. of Sargent Street, Winthrop passed away at the Lighhouse Nursing Care Center in Revere on March 24. He was 85 years old.

Born in Winthrop, he was the beloved son of the late Helen (Fowler) and Harold A. Ham, Sr.. A lifelong resident of Winthrop, he served in the Army reserves for several years. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a Lithographic Artist for many years. He was a longtime member of the Cottage Park Yacht and was a member of the Masons and he served as a Past Master Mason.

He was the devoted husband of Elizabeth A. (Tewksbury) and the loving father of Jeffrey Ham of Wenham and the late Gary Ham of East Falmouth. He is also the cherished grandfather of Caroline and Melissa Ham.

Anna Massa

Member of St. John’s Mothers Club and Winthrop Catholic Women’s Club

Anna T. Massa of Golden Drive, Winthrop passed away at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home on April 23. She was 90 years old.

Born in Boston, the beloved daughter of the late Angelina (Capalotti) and Anthony Bazzinotti, she grew up in South Boston before moving to Winthrop in 1946. She also lived in Sarasota, Florida for over 20 years. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as an administrative assistant for a plastics company. Mrs. Massa was a member of the St. John’s Mother’s Club and the Winthrop Catholic Women’s Club.

She was the devoted wife of the late Michael J. Massa and the loving mother of Joanne and Henry Riley of Brockton, Marianne and Robert Impemba of Winthrop and the late Michael Massa. She was one of 13 children and is survived by Anthony Bazzinotti of Wilmington and William Bazzinotti of South Boston. She was also the cherished grandmother of Teddy, Robert, Jill and Lauren and great grandmother of Taylor, Mary, Anna and Lacey.

Her funeral was conducted from the Ernest P. Caggiano and Son-O’Maley Funeral Home, Winthrop on Monday, April 27 followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church. Interment followed the Mass in the Cross Street section of Winthrop Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
