We want to wish our Jewish residents a Happy Hanukkah for the Festival of Lights that began at sundown Tuesday and continues for eight days. There will be the traditional lighting of the Menorah each night and other customs that include children playing the dreidel game and singing Hanukkah songs. In Winthrop, it’s been a year of transformation as the Temple Tifereth Israel welcomed a new residential project next to the main building. We wish all the members of our Jewish community a joyful holiday season.
