Kudos to the Winthrop Planning Board and the Town Council for passing the new ordinances related to development and construction in the Winthrop Center Business District.
The new ordinances will streamline the process and make it business-friendly for developers and new business owners.
It’s been a long time coming, but the Planning Board and the Town Council, with the support of Town Manager James McKenna, realized their goal of boosting the prospects of development in the Center.
And Councilor-at-Large Philip Boncore, with an assist from Council Vice President Nicholas DelVento, did a great job reading the entire list of changes during the Council meeting. We’re not sure it made for great television for Mike Cabral’s WCAT live broadcast, but the end result was worth it — passage by the Council and brighter prospects for Winthrop Center.
