Groundbreaking Held at Dalrymple School

Town officials joined East Boston Community Development Corporation (EBCDC) representatives at the groundbreaking for the Dalrymple School project that will convert the former elementary school into 27 units of affordable senior housing.

This was certainly great news for some of the neighbors of the property as it has sat dormant for quite some time. But Town Manager James McKenna was persistent in his efforts to keep the project moving forward as the EBCDC advanced its financing arrangements. McKenna beamed with pride at the speaking program as he talked about the future of the building and what a great location it has in the town.

Combined with the new project at the former Winthrop Hospital site and the housing proposal for the Temple Tifereth Israel site, McKenna and the Town Council can take pride in the regeneration of these properties.
