We have known Jennifer O’Connell since her days as a three-sport scholar athlete and captain and student leader at Lynn Classical High school and maybe that’s why we’re so pleased that this terrific young lady has been promoted to the position of Director of Pupil Personnel Services in the Winthrop school system.
Jennifer has done outstanding work in the field of special education and her excellent educational background, beginning at the University of New Hampshire and continuing at the esteemed Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions and Salem State University, have prepared her well for this important leadership role.
We have always admired Jennifer’s energy and her dedication to her students. Our teachers certainly appreciated her diligence and professionalism as the former vice-president and president of their union.
Jennifer knows there is a lot of hard work ahead in the position, but we’re confident that Supt. of Schools John Macero has made an outstanding choice for the administrator of our special education programs.
Congratulations, Jennifer, and good luck in your new position.
