DeLeo’s Beach Cleanup Saturday: Volunteers Needed for Event

Speaker of the House Robert A. DeLeo will hold his annual Winthrop Beach Cleanup on Saturday at 9 a.m. The Speaker said he always been impressed by the large number of residents who donate their time to such an important effort.

Anyone who enters the town at Short Beach in Revere can see how much more aesthetically pleasing it has become and the Speaker was instrumental in that renovation. And the Belle Isle Bridge at the other entrance to our town will reportedly be completed in the next two weeks.

We thank Speaker DeLeo for continuing the tradition of the Winthrop Beach Cleanup and affirming that it is more than a symbolic effort. The Speaker has been a tremendous force in making sure that our beaches and shorelines are receiving the highest level of attention and resources from our state government.
