Winthrop Parks Committee Family Fun Night: Event is Set for May 11 at the Winthrop Y.C.

The success of sustaining an annual fundraiser usually depends on how the first one proceeds and that’s why we’re hoping that Dawn Sullivan and the Winthrop Parks Committee will draw a sizable turnout to the first annual Winthrop Fun Night set for May 11 at the Cottage Park Yacht Club.

The committee – which originated from a fine proposal by Council President Peter Gill – has been busy working on the renovations at Pico Park and expects the park to be ready for use this summer. It will then turn its attention to other parks in the town.

The committee has planned a fun-filled night of food and activities and all the funds raised will support the restoration and maintenance of Winthrop’s town parks.

We hope that all of our readers will support this worthwhile endeavor and we say thank to Dawn Sullivan and the committee for helping to deliver a playground in the Pico Avenue neighborhood that children will enjoy for years to come.
