There can be no doubt that this will be another busy and exciting year for our Town Manager James McKenna, Council President Peter Gill, and our Town Council as they prepare to lead this town to even greater heights. The issue of the possible construction of a brand new, state-of-the-art middle/high school will be front and center and the Building Committee, led by Mary Lou Osborne and Dave Dockendorf, will start their work for this year at a meeting tonight.
The development of the Winthrop Hospital and the Dalrymple School properties are projects that residents can feel good about. The renovations at the Larsen Rink at the Mike Eruzione Center and the improved look of our streets and parks under the able direction of DPW Director Steve Calla also give Winthrop residents a source of pride.
Jim McKenna has been an outstanding and energetic leader for the town and we have no doubt that Winthrop will continue to move forward and be the safe and close-knit community we all know it to be.
