The ongoing controversy in the Winthrop Little League should in no way be seen as a reflection upon what a great organization it has been through the years. The dismissal of a long-time volunteer in the league was the result of a philosophical difference involving the interpretation of the All-Star player selection process and thus in no way reflects on the hard work of Little League officials and the coaches.
The situation is unfortunate, as these sorts of matters always are, because the league has done so much to bring enjoyment to so many young baseball players. But we’re sure that Winthrop Little League will move forward from the situation and continue to be the safe and fun forum for our young players to learn the game and develop their baseball skills.

Doesn't affect players? Â Really? Â How about the player who was left off the team? Â Apparently the Transcript staff is not affected or interested in simply doing what is right.
