Lombardi Did a Great Job: Grant Writer Moving on and Will Be Missed

Peter Lombardi came to Winthrop as an intern in the office of Town Manager James McKenna. Under McKenna’s tutelage, he learned about the workings of municipal government and became a valued member of the team at Town Hall. McKenna thought so highly of the Suffolk graduate student that he brought him on board officially as a grant writer for the town. McKenna’s vision was once again right on the mark as Lombardi helped secure an incredible $1.5 million in grants for the town. Peter always served with the utmost professionalism and showed his initiative in coordinating McKenna’s plan for the Farmers Market in Winthrop Center.

But alas, Peter Lombardi has decided to leave our town government and continue his career in an administrative position in Newburyport. We wish him well in his new job. Winthrop’s loss is certainly Newburyport’s gain.

Thank you, Peter, for a job well done.
