Town Starts Search for CFO

The town has begun its search for a new chief financial officer.

Town Manager James McKenna told the Council that he has developed a comprehensive job description and advertising for the position is underway.

“Superintendent John Macero and I will be leading it [the application and candidate selection process] with assistance from a member of the Council, a member of the School Committee, and a  member of the Citizens Finance Advisory Committee.”

The tentative calendar calls for an application deadline of June 15 with interviews scheduled in the following two or three weeks.

“We’d like to have an appointment made so we can have somebody on board mid-to-late July,” said McKenna.

The manager invited the entire Council to have input in the application process.

The position became vacant following the resignation of former CFO Michael Bertino.
