A Great Night

We certainly want to join the committee for Saturday night’s hockey gala in extending its gratitude to Britney Rand, whose exceptional efforts in leading the event are to be commended. Rand has been a superlative booster of the Winthrop High hockey program.

And we must thank former Winthrop resident Chris Wayland, general manager of Channel 7 and Channel 56 in Boston, for his outstanding efforts in lending his professional assistance to the production of the film tribute to Mike Eruzione.

Wayland is a former hockey standout who played the game in high school, college, and in the professional ranks. Wayland said he had been inspired by Eruzione’s story. The film tribute was perfectly orchestrated and added another special touch to the evening.
