A New Chapter: Best of Luck to Suzanne Martucci

We may be biased because we have gotten to know Suzanne Martucci as a talented, professional photographer whose photos have graced the pages of the Sun-Transcript. And her father, Gus, has been a mainstay in the town whom we first met as an offensive lineman who helped bring Winthrop High its first Super Bowl championship in 1981.

But we join the business community in congratulating Suzanne on her ownership of the Winthrop Book Depot and CafÇ on Somerset Avenue. Suzanne’s first official day at the store was November 1 and we know she will add her own personal and creative touch to the store in Winthrop Center.

Suzanne said that she will be selling some of her photographs at the store to complement the many varieties of books and magazines to be available.

We also want to thank outgoing owner Lois Sullivan for all her hospitality at the store for the past 13 years and for making the Winthrop Book Depot and CafÇ the great gathering spot it became under her stewardship.

For the past couple of weeks her loyal customers have been coming to the store to thank her for her friendliness and the warmth they felt when they walked in the door and she greeted them.

We wish Lois and her husband the best in her retirement. She knows that Suzanne Martucci will carry on the tradition and continue to make the Winthrop Book Depot and CafÇ a town treasure for book aficionados and people who enjoy a great cup of coffee and some conversation among friends in the morning.
