It’s About Time: Traffic Situation at Gorman School Needs to Be Addressed and Fixed

As any parent of a child who has attended the Gorman Ft. Banks School since the school opened a decade ago readily can attest, the drop off and pick up situation and resultant traffic problems on Kennedy Drive are a nightmare. The safety problems are high, as is everybody’s blood pressure and anxiety levels.

Town Council President Jeffrey Turco has announced an initiative to fix the traffic situation at the school with a proposal to construct a new access road. This will relieve Kennedy Drive as the only road in and out to the school and will alleviate the traffic jams in the morning and the afternoon during school days.

No doubt the concerns of residents of the nearby Governor’s Park complex will need to be taken into consideration for the construction of the access road, but we hope this project will become a top priority for the Town Council.
