Victor Paci

US Air Retiree

Victor Paci of Winthrop died recently. He was in his 93rd year.

Born on January 12, 1919 in Augusta Sicily to Elisabetta (Danieli) and Domenico Paci, he was the second youngest and last surviving child of 11 children.  He was five years old when his family emigrated to the U.S., settling in Winthrop.

He was decorated for his service during World War II in the China Burma India theatre of operations, He remained in the Army Reserves until his retirement in 1978 as Chief Warrant Officer IV.  He retired from United Air Lines after 30 years as a Supervisor of the Food Services Division.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Delia (Buonopane); four children, Victor and his wife, Jennifer of Newton, Doreen and Anita of Winthrop, and Robert of California; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and her husband, Dave Rand and James as well as many nieces and nephews.

His Funeral will be held from the Ernest P. Caggiano & Son – O’Maley Funeral Home, 147 Winthrop St., Winthrop today,Thursday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited. Edith DeStefano

Retired Stitcher

Edith DeStefano of Winthrop died at home on September 2. She was 83 years old.

Born in East Boston, the daughter of the late Theresa (Sirveck) and Torindo Pelosi, she lived in East Boston before moving to Winthrop 20 years ago. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a stitcher in men’s clothing.

She was the beloved wife of the late Frank J. DeStefano and the devoted mother of Frank J. DeStefano, Jr. of Winthrop.

Ann Fuccione

Of Nahant, formerly of Winthrop

Ann (Costonis) Fuccione of  Nahant, formerly of Winthrop, died recently.

A past member of St. Thomas Ladies Auxiliary, Mrs. Fuccione was a devoted and dedicated parishioner of St. Thomas Church for more than 30 years

She was the beloved wife of 50 years of John Fuccione; devoted mother of John and his wife, Karen of Kingston N.H., Anthony of Marblehead and Andrea Alberti of Nahant; dear sister of George, Arthur, Anthony, John, Sylvia “Trilley,” Joann and the late Lillian; cherished grandmother of Sophya, Nina, Hannah, Marissa, Johnny, Arinna, Francesca and Eliza and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass in Celebration of her life will be held in St. Thomas  Aquinas Church, 248 Nahant Road, Nahant on Saturday,  September 10 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours in St. Thomas Church will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nahant. Gladys Sullivan

Nahant resident

Gladys E. (Robinson) Sullivan of Nahant died on August 20. She was 86 years old.

She was the wife of the late Cornelius Sullivan;  mother and mother in law of Patricia Sullivan and her husband, Terry Vazquez of Winthrop, Kathleen Sullivan and her husband, Keith Reams of Fair Oaks California, Cornelius Sullivan, Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska and Maureen Sullivan of Hawaii. She also leaves her grandchildren, Oliver and Phineas Reams of Fair Oaks, California, and her godchild Maria Moran.

Memorial services will be held on September 9 at 12 noon in the Ellingwood Chapel, Greenlawn Cemetery, 195 Nahant Road, Nahant. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Richard Otolo

Of Saugus, formerly of Revere

Richard M. Otolo of Saugus, formerly of Revere, died on September 2.

A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Saugus VFW.

He was the beloved husband of the late Catherine (Dotolo); devoted father of Nancy Kennedy of Pennsylvania, Richard of New Hampshire Susan Otolo of Winthrop and Robert and his wife, Susan of Revere; loving grandfather of Alyssa, Matthew, Gillian and Robert and great grandfather of Nicholas. He was the dear brother of the late Vera Damelio, Edith Ruggiero and Ralph Otolo.
