It’s in the Genes: Bo Diaz Follows in Grandfather’s Footsteps

Robert “Bo” Diaz of the Winthrop High football team was this year’s winner of the Ironman Competition that measures the players’ strength, endurance, conditioning, and athleticism. Diaz is the grandson of the late John McGee, who was captain of the 1947 WHS football team. It was 64 years ago that Mr. McGee suited up for the Vikings and Bo D. is proudly carrying on the family tradition. Bo’s grandmother is Hall of Fame track coach Pat McGee and you can bet that Pat will be at every football game this season cheering on the Vikings and her grandson.
