Town Meetings Live: Internet Coverage is Being Explored

Council President Jeffrey Turco expanded on his proposal to have all meetings of all town committees shown live on the Internet so Winthrop residents can follow the meetings on their home computers. Turco said the city of Sacramento, California has tried the idea and it appears to be working well.

The town manager is looking into the idea and will report back to the Council.

The coverage would supplement the great work that WCAT Executive Director Mike Cabral and his staff do in televising the Town Council and School Committee meetings and other public forums and events.
