Registration deadline is Oct. 13; information is available on the clerk’s office, on the Web

Town Clerk Carla Vitale released some key dates and information about the upcoming election on November 2 during a chat with the Winthrop Sun-Transcript this week.

Vitale announced that:

The deadline to register to vote to be eligible for the Nov. election is Oct. 13. The Town Clerk’s office at Town Hall will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on that day.

Residents can view a copy of the ballot in the Town Clerk’s office or on the Winthrop Home page under news and announcements.

On election night, the town’s unofficial results be sent to the Associated Press, WCAT, and posted on the front door of Town Hall and the Home Page of the town Web site: www.town.ma.us

Residents can obtain copies of the voter information red books (ballot questions) at the Town Clerk’s office.

Absentee ballot applications can be downloaded from the Town Clerk’s Web page at http://www.town.winthrop.ma.us./Pages/WinthropMA_Clerk/index, or the Secretary of State Web site at www.sec.state.ma.us/ele.eleidx.htm

Vitale also indicated that Paul Loscocco’s will appear on the ballot even though he has announced his withdrawal from the race for lieutenant governor.
