Dora Sherriff

Revere resident

Dora O. (Fiore) Sherriff of Revere died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on January 18.

She was the beloved wife of the late Irving M. "Herb" Sherriff; devoted mother of Frances "Fran" Reily and her husband, Thomas, of Georgetown, Stephen H. Sherriff and his wife, Elaine, of Peabody and Judith J. DiGregorio and her husband, Anthony, of Revere; dear sister of John Fiore and his wife, Hilda, of Revere, Rita Gallo and her late husband, Patrick, of Winthrop and the late Frank Fiore, Anna Hopkins, Edythe McQuade, Louis Fiore, James Fiore and his surviving spouse, Virginia, and Florence Carbone; sister-in-law of Eileene Sherriff of Revere; cherished grandmother of Christopher and Brett Reily, Melissa Sherriff-Streng, Michael Sherriff, Craig and David DiGregorio and great-grandmother of Jake, Piper, Benjamin, Nathan, Max, Maggie, Luke, Lilly and Luciana "Dora." She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Her Funeral will be held from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons~Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St, Revere on Friday, January 22 at 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony’s Church at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Shane Rigney

Winthrop Middle School Teacher

Shane M. Rigney of Beverly, formerly of Salem and Peabody, died unexpectedly on January 14 at Beverly Hospital. He was 31 years old.

Born in Salem, he was the son of Elizabeth (Hart) Rigney of Danvers, and Myles Rigney of Fitzwilliam, NH. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody Veteran’s Memorial High School, Class of 1996. He continued his education at Salem State College and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science in 2001 and his Masters Degree from Salem State College in 2007.

Mr. Rigney taught computer science at the middle school level in Peabody and Lynn and, for the last two years, he has taught at the Winthrop Middle School. He loved being around kids and was involved with several after school programs on the North Shore. He also enjoyed coaching and refereeing flag football and has been involved with the North Shore Flag Football league for the past five years.

In addition to his loving mother and father, he is survived his sister, Bethany Rigney and her husband, Ed Guillen, and their son, Caden, all of Port St. Lucia, Florida; his beloved girlfriend, Jennifer Mirra of Beverly; his step brother, Ryan Rigney of Rochester, NH, his grandmother, Janice Rigney of Gloucester, his aunts and uncles, John Hart, Cynthia Herlihy, Judy Freehand, Tim Hart and Kathryn Conway and his great aunt, New Hampshire State Representative Mary Griffin.

Funeral arrangements are by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody. Following cremation, a graveside service will be held today, Thursday, at 10 a.m. at the family lot at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Doreen Rush

Everett resident

Doreen E. (MacArthur) Rush of Everett died on January 14. She was 85 years old.

The beloved wife of the late Herbert F. Rush, she was the loving mother of Steve Rush and his wife, Maria, of Deerfield Beach, Florida, Denise Downs and her husband, Paul, of Everett, John H. Rush of Everett, and Laureen Rush of Winthrop; loving sister of Tom MacArthur of Everett, Marilyn Leavitt of Peabody, and the late Bette DeMartino. She is also survived by nine cherished grandchildren, one cherished great grandchild, several nieces and nephews and her cherished pup, Ruby.

Gilbert Trabucco

Of Florida and Burlington

Gilbert "Gil" A. Trabucco of Orlando, Florida and Burlington died on January 12.

He was the beloved husband of Phyllis L. (George); loving father of Daniel and his wife, Linda, of Burlington and the late Gilbert Trabucco; grandfather of Joseph Trabucco of Burlington and Brianna Trabucco of Maine; brother of Robert Dantona and his wife, Bea, of Wakefield and the late Joseph "Junior" Trabucco Jr. and Joseph Dantona; brother-in-law of Anna Trabucco of East Boston and Dorothy Sava of Winthrop. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Gregory Tallent

Reading resident

Gregory F. Tallent of Reading died on January 13. He was 53 years old.

A US Navy Vietnam Era veteran who lived in Winthrop until the age of nine, he was the beloved son of Herbert Tallent and the late Constance (Rutledge) Tallent and Sheila (DeVita) Tallent; dear brother of William Tallent of New Hampshire , Linda Tallent of Reading, Donna Powers of Rowley, Michael DeVita of Tewksbury, Sandra Anderson of Londonderry, NH, Andrew DeVita of Connecticut, Diane Donaldson of Lowell and loving uncle of Kenneth and Constance Perry, both of Reading. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
