Richard Allan DeGregorio

Retired Investment Professional who treasured his family above all

Richard Allan DeGregorio of North Reading, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026, at the age of 92. He was the beloved husband of Rosemary DeGregorio.

Born and raised in Winthrop, Richard was a proud graduate of Winthrop High School and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Boston University. He and Rosemary raised their family in Saugus, where they built a wonderful life together. In 2010, they moved to North Reading to be closer to their beloved grandchildren.

Richard proudly served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.

He enjoyed a long and highly successful career as an investment professional, working with several respected firms throughout the years, including White Weld Co., Smith Barney, Merrill Lynch, Tucker Anthony, and RBC Wealth Management. His dedication to his profession and the relationships he built throughout his career were a source of great pride.

An avid golfer, Richard was a longtime member of Salem Country Club, where he enjoyed many years on the course and served a two-year term as President of the Club. Golf was a cherished part of his life, as was his enthusiasm for Boston sports. A devoted fan of the Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins, Richard held season tickets for all three teams for many years and greatly enjoyed sharing his love of Boston sports with family and friends.

Above all, Richard treasured his family. He took great joy in spending time with Rosemary, his children, and especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his love of family, his friendships, his dedication to his career, his passion for golf and Boston sports, and the many memories he created with those who knew and loved him.

Richard was predeceased by his brothers, Robert, Patrick, and Michael DeGregorio, and his sister, Rosemarie French. He is survived by his devoted wife, Rosemary; his daughter, Maryann Gibby; his son, Richard DeGregorio; and his cherished grandchildren, Alec, Faith, and Nolan. He also leaves behind many loving relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home, Winthrop on Friday, September 25, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 12 noon. Services will conclude with the interment in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to join the family at the Salem Country Club, 133 Forest St, Peabody, MA immediately after the cemetery.
