O’Brien stand along Shore Drive in Winthrop, to take a quick
rest, and continue their journey to save lives.

The biggest threat to our nations heroes are themselves, after returning home, finding it hard to cope, homeless, hooked on substances, or just in pain from indescribable wounds, mentally and physically.
It’s hard to believe that a boy of 14 has the foresight to believe in such a great cause. The suicide rate in our nation, the best in the world, is estimated at 22 a day. The recent poll showing an increase in males and a decrease in females, but still, one is one too many.
JJ Smith is not alone in his fight, and pledge to raise $1000.00 dollars for the annual 62-mile walk/run challenge to stop soldier suicide, Danny Minning and Bryce O’Brien have joined this young patriot and are running across the All-American Town of Winthrop, carrying our Nation’s pride and joy, our Flag. One must take a step back, and take a look, in these times, how 3, 14-year-old boys could look so deep in a national problem, when they could be playing video games, riding their bikes, and hanging with their friends. When asked, JJ, Danny, and Bryce had this to say. We love America, we love our freedom, and we could not think of a better way to say thank you to those who gave it to us, without being asked, or ever knowing either one of us. It’s our way of giving back.
It’s the 4th of July, our Nations birthday, celebrating 250 years of freedom. Do you want to know why its lasted so long, and why we are the greatest nation in the world? The answer is, there are many more red, white and blue beating hearts like these three young men in America, and Winthrop should be proud to have these three living there.
