Local girl scouts spend night aboard USS Massachusetts

Winthrop Girl Scout Troop 70227 recently spent the night aboard the historic USS Massachusetts at Battleship Cove in Fall River.

During the overnight experience, scouts explored naval vessels, learned about military history, and gained a firsthand appreciation for the service and sacrifice of those who served our country. As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, the trip provided a meaningful opportunity for scouts to connect with our nation’s history while honoring the generations who helped shape and defend the United States.

The overnight was both an educational adventure and a memorable way to celebrate America’s semiquincentennial.
