Staff Report
The Town of Winthrop has released the official list of candidates who will appear on the ballot for the municipal election on November 4, 2025. The election includes races for various town offices, including Town Council President, Councilor At-Large, Town Council Precincts, Housing Authority, Library Trustee, and School Committee. The list of candidates was confirmed as of September 16, 2025.
The ballot for the Town Council President will feature two candidates: James Letterie (Incumbent) and Hannah Belcher.
For Councilor At-Large, voters will choose between Celeste Beatrice Ribeiro Hewitt and Kurt Millar.
The following are the candidates for the respective Town Council Precincts:
Town Council Precinct 1: Pat Costigan (Incumbent).
Town Council Precinct 2: Michael Kinlin, Kimberly Dimes, and Joseph Romano.
Town Council Precinct 3: Elizabeth “Betsy” Shane.
Town Council Precinct 5: Paul Reardon and Joseph Aiello (incumbent).
Candidates for Housing Authority include Peter Gill (Incumbent) and Erin Barcellos.
For Library Trustee, voters will select three from the following candidates: Cynthia Hastings, Bill Schmidt, Grace Kingsberry, and Gillian Teixeira (Incumbent).
The race for School Committee features Kaitlin Burroughs, Shannon Kubik, and Leslie Darcy.
The election will be held on November 4, 2025.
