Thank You for an amazing summer
Dear Editor:
On behalf of For Kids Only Afterschool (FKO), I would like to publicly thank Superintendent Howard, Principal Reynolds, and the entire Winthrop Public Schools team for their partnership and generosity in sharing space at the Gorman Fort Banks School this summer.
Thanks to this collaboration, FKO has been able to provide high-quality summer enrichment to nearly 200 Winthrop children, 51 of whom are attending our program at the Gorman Fort Banks School. These 51 children would have otherwise remained on a waitlist without access to out-of-school time programming. This act of support is helping to ensure that more local children have a safe, engaging, and enriching place to learn and grow while school is out.
FKO’s 2025 summer programs offer full-day, full-week experiences designed to support social-emotional development and provide hands-on learning in arts, science, and active play. With locations at both the Gorman Fort Banks School and FKO Winthrop Street, our programming is helping keep children connected and thriving during the summer months.
We are deeply grateful to Winthrop Public Schools for their continued dedication to the children and families of Winthrop. This kind of partnership truly strengthens our community.
