Paul F. Nichols, 65, a lifelong resident of Winthrop, passed away on June 22, 2025 at home surrounded by family, friends and his beloved pets.

Before retiring, Paul spent his professional years working in the airline catering and cargo industries at Logan Airport. He had a strong work ethic and created a reputation as someone who could get the job done. He made many good friends during his tenure at the airport.

Above all else, Paul loved his family. It was truly what made him the happiest. He loved vacationing with his family on Saint Simons Island, GA., a location he visited many times, starting at a young age. It is hard to find a friend of Paul’s whom he didn’t tell about his favorite vacation spot. Born on Halloween, it was Paul’s favorite holiday and he would celebrate with costume parties and elaborate outdoor displays. There was always a party on his birthday.

Paul was a life member of the Pleasant Park Yacht Club where he held many roles up to and including Rear Commodore and created many lasting memories with lifelong friends. He fully embraced the joys of boating life.

All through his life, Paul loved all animals and was always the first to help an injured animal or feed a stray cat. He was always happy with a cat on his lap or a dog by his side. Paul made everyone laugh and smile with his quick wit, sense of humor and infectious smile. For this and many other reasons, Paul will be forever in our hearts.

His funeral mass was celebrated in St. John the Evangelist Church on Monday, June 30, 2025. Services concluded with the interment in the Cross Street section of Winthrop Cemetery.
