Susan Kaplovitz
Her legacy is one of strength, curiosity and profound kindness
Susan (Enid) Kaplovitz passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025 at age 80. Susan was a native of Winthrop who graduated from Winthrop High in 1962, Mt. Holyoke College in 1966 and received her MBA from Simmons University in 1988.
In Boston, she worked as a teacher, executive in the insurance industry and an executive for a major teaching hospital. Susan’s legacy is one of strength, curiosity, and profound kindness. She showed us that life, no matter the obstacles, can still be lived with independence, grace and joy.
She was predeceased by her parents, Maxwell and Fay Ediss Kaplovitz and her brother Barry Kaplovitz. She is not only mourned by her cousins, Ellen Kaplovitz, Nessa Kleinglass, Alan Pyenson and Gary Stone but also friends, neighbors and by special caregiver advocates who became family.
Funeral Services were held in the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home on Sunday, February 23, 2025. Services concluded with a private interment in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery.
