She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion
Barbara A. Wright, a beloved resident of Winthrop, born on July 7, 1934 in Morristown, New Jersey, passed away at Melrose Wakefield Hospital on November 3, 2024. She was a cherished member of the community for over 69 years.
Prior to her retirement, she worked at NYNEX in the advertising department. Barbara was also an active member of the senior center, where she found joy in connecting with others and participating in various activities.
Having lived in Revere before making Winthrop her home, Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was the devoted wife of the late Edwin Wright and the loving mother of Edwin Wright and his wife, Linda, Anthony Wright, Dawn Freeman and her husband, James and Lillian Turilli and her husband, Peter; cherished grandmother of Erin, Barbara and her husband, John, Sasha and her husband, Marco and Nicole and her partner, John and the dear sister of her twin, Christine Jacques and Mary Ann Giunta.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home, Winthrop on Friday, November 8 from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, November 9 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with the interment in the Cross Street section of Winthrop Cemetery.

Lise (Lisa) Marie Hayes
Devoted mother and grandmother
Lise (Lisa) Marie Hayes, “Ma,” of Winthrop passed away on October 31 at the age of 84.
She was born on January 3, 1940, in Magog, Canada to Cecile and George Parthenais. The family then settled in Coaticook, a small town in the Eastern Townships of Quebec.
At the age of 16, Lise graduated from high school and began her career at Canadian Bell Telephone Company as a cable line assigner. In 1961, while on vacation at Old Orchard Beach, Maine, she met and fell in love with her husband of 63 years, Michael J. Hayes. The couple moved to Saugus, MA, to raise their family, later spending time in Sandwich, MA, and finally settling in Winthrop.
Lise was a devoted mother to her two children, including the late Kimberley Lise Hayes of Revere and Steven Michael Hayes of Hull. Kimberley passed away in 2003 at the age of 39, leaving behind her loving daughter, Logan DiCarlo, the daughter of Peter DiCarlo, Jr. of Revere. Lise raised Logan with immense love and guidance, nurturing her into the woman she has become today. Steven married Laura Ferraro-Hayes of Hull in 2014, who has been a wonderful addition to the family.
Donations can be made in memory of Lise Marie Hayes to the Massachusetts General Hospital, 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114 in appreciation for their outstanding care over the years, or to Animal Rescue League of Boston, 10 Anna’s Place, Dedham, MA 02026 in honor for her love of dogs.
Family and friends from both the U.S. and Canada are cordially invited to attend the visitation at Ernest P. Caggiano & Son Funeral Home (147 Winthrop St, Winthrop, MA 02152) today, Thursday, November 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, November 8 at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with the interment in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
Anita Bolognese
Known for her generosity and her kind heart
Anita Bolognese, 74 of Winthrop, beloved daughter of the late Rose (Gioioso) and Charles DiCicco, passed away at the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers peacefully surrounded by her family on October 29, 2024.
Anita is survived by her loving husband, Michael and daughter, Anita and her husband, Rick Peterson. She was the cherished grandmother of Sam, Michael, Erica, Stephen and Mikey; dear sister of Margaret Arrigo and her husband, George and Diane Shanahan and her late husband, Michael and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Anita was a devoted loving wife, mother, nana, sister and friend. She was a successful business woman and owner of Anita’s Design in Stoneham for 34 years. She also worked as a hairdresser at the Caggiano Funeral Home in Winthrop for over 40 years where she will be deeply missed.
Anita was known for her generosity and her kind heart. Every year she had a family tradition of going to Eidelweiss in Madison, New Hampshire.
The funeral was conducted from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home, Winthrop on Monday, November 4 followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church. Rev. Peter Graziano celebrated the mass and offered prayers at the interment in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery.
