Sen. Lydia Edwards, Community Partners Host Winthrop Pride Potluck

Senator Lydia Edwards, in collaboration with the Winthrop Commission for Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Relations (CDICR), the Town of Winthrop, and several local sponsors, hosted a Winthrop Pride Potluckfor residents on Saturday, June 15 at Ingleside Park.

The celebration kicked off with the Bike Winthrop Pride Ride at noon. Cyclists of all skill levels joined in this festive ride through the beautiful town. Following the ride, attendees enjoyed an afternoon filled with excitement, including:

• Live Music by the popular DJ Kurt Millar.

• Drop Zone Beer Garden for refreshing beverages.

• Face Painting and a Bouncy House to delight the younger guests.

• Food Delights: Complimentary burgers and hotdogs were served. Guests brought their favorite side dishes and desserts to share.

• Pride Trivia: Attendees tested their knowledge and won prizes in a fun-filled trivia game.

This event was a true community effort, brought to the town by the Winthrop Commission for Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Relations (CDICR), and the Office of Senator Lydia Edwards. Heartfelt thanks were extended to the sponsors, including Honan Sign Co., Bike Winthrop, ACE, and For Kids Only Afterschool, whose support made the celebration possible.

Senator Edwards shared her enthusiasm: “The Winthrop Pride Potluck is a testament to the strength and diversity of our community. I am delighted to see our town come together to celebrate LGBTQIA+ Pride and promote an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued. Let’s gather to share joy, companionship, and pride in who we are.” It was an opportunity to connect with neighbors, make new friends, and enjoy a day filled with joy!
