Eruzione Foundation Donates Equipment for School CPR Training

By Adam Swift

The Eruzione Foundation has never hesitated to step up to help the residents and students of Winthrop.

Recently, the foundation donated equipment to the Winthrop Public Schools that will help middle school students learn CPR, Superintendent of Schools Lisa Howard told the School Committee at its most recent meeting.

“The students really seem to enjoy it, and it is such a great skill to have,” said Howard.

During the CPR training, Howard noted that there have also been discussions about AED machines, what they are and how to find them in case students ever have to assist in locating or getting one during a medical emergency.

In other business at the School Committee meeting, Howard noted that the district was looking to fill several positions, including several food service workers as well as an assistant food service manager at the Middle/High School.

In addition, she said the district was also seeking an ABA technician to work with special needs students in the autism program at the Gorman Fort Banks School, as well as a long-term ESP substitute at the middle school to cover for a maternity leave.
