Vikings Blank Medford; Host Marblehead This Saturday at Larsen at 1:30

The Winthrop High boys hockey team improved to 4-1 with a 4-0 shutout victory over non-league opponent Medford this past Tuesday evening at Larsen Rink.

Holgersen, assisted by captain Petey Silverman, who slid a perfect pass to a streaking Holgersen who was cutting down the middle, made it 3-0 in the middle stanza. Michael then put the finishing touch on the Viking victory with an empty-net goal in the final minutes.

Sophomore goalie Mike Donahue, who was making his first varsity start, earned the shutout, turning aside 24 Mustang shots.
