Nancy Mae Gilmore

Of Winthrop, formerly of Saugus and Chelsea

Nancy Mae (Schrimpf) Gilmore of Winthrop, formerly of Saugus and Chelsea, passed away on August 14. 

The devoted mother of Stacey Margardo and her husband, Damien of Winthrop and Joseph Gilmore of Charlestown, she was the dear sister of four brothers and three sisters and cherished special friend of Jane Schrimpf, adored Mimi of Mckenzie, Morgan, Nicholas, Nathan, Zachary and Stone and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. 

A funeral mass will be held in celebration of Nancy’s life on Monday, August 22 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Parish (Formerly St .John the Evangelist Church), 320 WInthrop Street, Winthrop. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Autism Foundation: Autism Speaks. Albert Puopolo

Retired Internal Revenue Service Accountant

Albert A. Puopolo of Winthrop, formerly of Weymouth, passed away at home on August 11. He was 86 years old.

Born in Chelsea, the beloved son of the late Ida (Michela) and Anthony Puopolo, he was a resident of Winthrop for the past eleven years and worked as an accountant for the Internal Revenue Service prior to his retirement. He also served in the Army National Guard.

He was the loving father of Anthony Puopolo and Joseph Puopolo and his wife, Krystal, all of Winthrop; dear brother of the late John Puopolo, cherished grandfather of Valerie and loving companion of Joanne Amaral of Duxbury and her children, Steven Amaral of Bourne, Tammy Nelson of Halifax, Kimberly Duplessis of Mendon and Wayne Amaral of Amesbury and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held in the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 17. Services concluded with the interment in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Weymouth.
