Paul Alfama

Was Boston Financial and State Street Vice President

Paul A. Alfama of Winthrop passed away at Care Dimensions in Lincoln on May 29. He was 79 years old.

Born in Cambridge, the beloved son of the late Elvira (Marino) and Asa J. Alfama, he was a resident of Winthrop for over 50 years and a Vice President at Boston Financial and State Street.

He was the devoted husband of the late Diane (Palmer) and the dear brother of Rosemary Bradshaw and her husband, Robert and Anthony Alfama and his wife, Terri, brother in law of Marianne Palmer and family and dear friend and cousin of Ronald Kelly. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home 147 Winthrop St., Winthrop on Sunday, June 12 from 3 to 7 p.m. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Monday, June 13 at 12 noon followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere at 1 p.m. Committal will be private.

Stephen Stoddard Sr.

Long Active in the First Church of Winthrop, United Methodist and in the Winthrop Community

Stephen G. Stoddard Sr. of Winthrop passed away on June 2. He was 79 years old.

Prior to his retirement, Stephen was employed as a welder.

Stephen was the former chairman on the First Church of Winthrop, United Methodist of Board of Trustees and a very active member of the church. He was instrumental in coordinating

and helping with the Winthrop Food Bank. Stephen was a leader in the church’s

Men’s Group and was a volunteer employee for the Winthrop Dept. of Public Works. Stephen was proud of being one of the co-organizers forWinthrop’s annual National Night Out.

The beloved husband of Jean E. (Soper) Stoddard, he was born in Portland, ME, the cherished son of the late Raymond and Arlene (Brayson) Stoddard. Stephen was the devoted father of Stephen G. Stoddard Jr. and his partner, Kelly Gifford of Salem and Kathleen Allen and her husband, Bill of Pittsfield, NH.

He was the adored grandfather of Emily, Christian, Matthew, Maria and Mason; the dear brother of the late Kenneth A. Stoddard and the former father-in-law of Alicia Sanford of Uxbridge.

Stephen’s funeral was held at the First Church of Winthrop, United Methodist, 217 Winthrop St., Winthrop on June 7 and interment was in Winthrop Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were from the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home, 210 Winthrop St,. Winthrop.
