Construction Update: Center Business District Officials Posts Two-Week Look Ahead

The following is a summary of the work completed last week and the work P. Gioioso & Sons, Inc. (contractor) has scheduled for the next two weeks in the Center Business District(CBD). Please note, the anticipated schedule may vary due to unforeseen site conditions, weather conditions, or other factors out of the contractor’s control.

Construction Updates and Schedule:

Work completed this week (July 26 to  30):

• Continued installation of streetlight pole bases on Woodside Avenue, between Pleasant Street and French Square; on Bartlett Road, between French Square and Adams Street; on Jefferson Street, between French Square and Hagman Road; and on Hagman Road.

• Continued resetting existing granite curb and installing new concrete sidewalks/driveways on Somerset Avenue.

Two-week Anticipated Schedule (August 2 to 13)

August 2 to August 6:

Scheduled Work:

• Continue installation of streetlight pole bases throughout Center Business District.

• Continue resetting existing granite curb and installing new concrete sidewalks/driveways on Somerset Avenue.

Traffic management (Monday-Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM):

• The CBD can be accessed from Cottage Park Road, Woodside Avenue, and Jefferson Street during construction hours (7 AM to 4 PM). Hagman Road, Jefferson Street, and Bartlett Road will be open during construction hours (7 AM to 4 PM) to exit the CBD.  

• Somerset Avenue will be closed at Pleasant Street. Cottage Park Road will remain open for access to the CBD.

• For streetlight pole base work, streets within the immediate work area will be posted no parking 48 hours in advance of work. Localized road shutdowns will be coordinated with the Owner as required. Access and egress into French Square will be maintained throughout scheduled work.

August 9 to August 13

Scheduled Work:

• Begin installation of electric conduit on Somerset Avenue, between Cottage Park Road and Woodside Avenue; and on Woodside Avenue, between Pauline Street and French Square.

• Continue resetting granite curb and installing new concrete sidewalks/driveways on Somerset Avenue.

Traffic Management (M-F, 7 AM to 4 PM):

• The CBD can be accessed from Cottage Park Road, Woodside Avenue, and Jefferson Street during construction hours (7 AM to 4 PM). Hagman Road, Jefferson Street, and Bartlett Road will be open during construction hours (7 AM to 4 PM) to exit the CBD.
