Last Saturday evening was Grand Masters night at the Winthrop Lodge #42 IOOF. Members of this esteemed organization from around the area gathered to show their respect and gratitude for their Grand Master of all lodges in Massachusetts, Mary Vitiello of Winthrop. GM Vitiello has been serving for two years, usually the term is one, but due to Covid-19 her term was extended and will expire this June 2021. One year is hard enough on anyone, covering the needs and obligations for two was just above and beyond. Members of her grand board and her lodge gathered to show their appreciation for her total commitment to lodges across Massachusetts and the communities they serve.
The IOOF is a non-political, non-sectarian international fraternal organization, founded in London in 1730, then in Maryland USA in 1819. Since then, it has grown across the country and the world and stands to serve communities and those in need, providing a structure that promotes personal and social development. Congratulations to Grand Master Mary Vitiello for her outstanding job serving others before herself, to her family that sacrificed their time together and to her Grand Board members that served her for the past two years
