WINARC Sailing Event

On Saturday, September 12th, WINARC participants, family members, and group-home staff set sail around Boston’s inner harbor as part of the Piers Park Commu-nity Sailing Program.  Under the direction of experienced sailing staff, the sailboats traveled past the airport, across the harbor toward the Boston skyline, and even-tually returned to Piers Park. The group enjoyed the exciting experience as they were blessed with beautiful sailing conditions: a sunny sky, temperature in the high 70’s, and a fair wind. The event was jointly planned by Julie Mei, co-president of WINARC, and Alex DeFronzo, the Piers Park sailing coordinator.

Upcoming WINARC virtual events include: Bingo, arts and crafts, and a Halloween Costume Party. WINARC provides: athletic, social, educational, and cultural pro-grams for adults and children with disabilities living in the general Winthrop, Re-vere, East Boston, and Chelsea area. For further information about WINARC, log on to www.winarc.org.
